LSE and Peking University jointly run the LSE-PKU Summer School in Beijing each summer, with applications now open for the 2012 programme, 6-17 August. Courses are taught in English by faculty from LSE and Peking University on subjects across the social sciences, including law, management, economics, international relations, finance, anthropology and media. Each course involves 48 hours tuition (36 hours of lectures and 12 hours of classes) and is assessed through coursework and a final exam. A certificate and full transcript is awarded to successful students, but it should be noted that the programme does not award LSE or University of London credit. Participants in 2011 came from 49 nationalities and 165 educational institutions. All current University of London International Programme students are eligible for the discount Student fee rate, and an additional £100 discount is available for applications received by 31 March 2012. Full details of courses and further information can be found online, here or by e-mailing lse-pku.programme@lse.ac.uk.
